Owner Alert Program Broward County Property Appraiser

Owner Alert is a free service offered by the Broward County Property Appraiser designed to help protect property owners from frauds or scams that involve a change of ownership on the property. Criminals can record fraudulent deeds claiming ownership of property without the rightful owner’s knowledge.

Once registered for Owner Alert, BCPA will notify you if there has been a change of ownership to the
property. Ownership records are changed based on deeds recorded with the Broward County Records Division and then provided to our office. If there has been a change of ownership, you will receive an email notification from our office with the link to the recorded document for you to review. If you authorized this change, you do not need to do anything additional.
If you did not initiate the change of ownership and suspect you are a victim of fraud, you should contact
the law enforcement agency for the city where the property is located.
Property fraud is a very serious issue. Criminals can record fraudulent deeds transferring ownership and
then try to mortgage, sell, or rent the property. Owner Alert helps stop these unlawful acts by notifying you of any change of ownership on your registered property.
The notification email will provide you with the link to the documents recorded in County Records changing
the ownership of the property. If you authorized this change, you do not need to do anything additional.
If you did not initiate the change of ownership and suspect you are a victim of fraud, you should contact
